Hello, new friend,

 

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to meet you virtually.  My name is Rebecca Joy Raboy, the founder of Healful Joy & Wellness. 

Above, I am showing off my two beautiful boys, Roman and Ryker.  They are the guiding force to all that is, and all that I will share.  

So, with that being said, let's begin!

I've been a health nut for most of my life.  That all began when I was twenty, ​I had a laundry list of chronic problems.  I was suffering from severe fibromyalgia, hypothyroid disease, sinus infections, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, headaches, migraines, insomnia, panic attacks, daily anxiety, lack of concentration, exhaustion, and that wasn't all.   I was a hot mess, to say the least.  I am so proud to share with you today, I don't suffer any longer, from any of it!

How did I come out of that and without medications you may ask?

 

I started the shift by eating consciously and following the EatRight4YourBloodtype diet.  Something I swear by!  But along with eating properly, I started paying attention to what I putting on my body as well.  I became a label reading fanatic and decided this was the only way to manage my life and my health.  I have been a huge advocate of knowing all the ingredients I was consuming or placing on me.  Avoiding harsh chemicals, additives, preservatives, dyes, synthetics, artificial anything, pesticides, alcohols, you name it!  I am totally that person who likes a label that lists all the things a product doesn't have in it.  I'm sure you know the kind of person I am talking about.

In 2012 I was teaching antigravity yoga at a lovely little studio.  The owner of the studio introduced me to dōTERRA essential oils.  Years prior to this introduction, I was asked frequently if I used essential oils for healthcare.  Funny enough, I used to be one of those people who thought essential oil therapy was a bit hoity-toity, even though I grew up with a mother who implemented holistic health practices into our lives and believed strongly in alternative medicine.  It wasn't until I gave essential oils a real try that I realized their true potential.  Let's just say, once they were introduced to my life, I have never looked back.

 

Plant-medicine does work!

Over the years, I started making tinctures for myself and loved ones.  I found making my own concoctions not only enjoyable but extremely effective.  I was so known for this, my best friend started calling me the voodoo witch. ha!  I loved the name and thought it was pretty fun. I'll come back to the significance of this in just a moment. ​

In 2017 when I was pregnant with my first son, Roman, I started having dreams about building a company around making healing products and sharing the plethora of health and wellness information I have gathered over the years.  I kept turning it away because my life's career path had always been entertainment, and I never imagined doing anything else.  In 2019 after my second son, Ryker was born, the idea of doing business came up for me again.  It wasn't until a friend of mine said to me "why are you always making things and not charging people?  This really should be a business".  Well, my friends, the business was born.

At first, the business was going to be called VooDoo Momma, naturally.  After months of working with a focus group, we all agreed VooDoo Momma was not the right name.  We worked tirelessly for days and came up with The Healing Momma.  I loved it!  Then, the tides were still rollin'.  After being in business as The Healing Momma for almost a year, I found out I couldn't use that name any longer due to trademark infringement.  Ba!  So I came back to the drawing board once again, and violà, HEALFUL JOY was birthed.  To be honest y'all, the transition was a lot and it definitely had me on edge for a while, but I couldn't be happier with the change and feel it really describes the products I make and how they assist me, my loved ones, and those around me heal from common everyday ailments.  Not too mention, it has my middle name featured, which has always been super sacred to me because my daddy gave it to me.  So there you have it.  HEALFUL JOY is now and will forever be, a huge part of my journey.
